Income generated from weddings supports our scholarship Fund for underserved New York and New Jersey youth attending our summer program.
In 1887, John Ames Mitchell, editor of Life magazine, raised $800 to send 266 children from New York City to his Life Fresh Air Farm in Branchville, Connecticut. The program evolved into present-day Trail Blazers, moving to 1100 forested acres in Sussex County, New Jersey currently owned by the Nature Conservancy, and continues the mission of providing outdoor adventure-based experiences where youth learn lessons and skills for life. Trail Blazers remains the nation’s second oldest American Camp Association-accredited program, and the first to offer environmental education.
Your special day can contribute to this special cause.

* Events are scheduled not to interfere or coincide with children’s programming, which always take priority. Please contact us for details.
“We love Trail Blazers because they spend time getting to know the children. I’ve seen counselors playing with the children, which changes how they respond and makes them excited for after school. Thank you for loving my son and being a part of our family for the last 3 years!” ~ Parent, 2020
