Overnight Camp

My son came back a completely different person. He was listening to me, he followed the rules, he wasn't complaining about food anymore and learned to give it a try before judging. But most of all he came back extremely happy. He made new friends, he learned new things like making camp fire or swimming. He is already asking me if he is going next year!

Overnight Camp
Located on our 1000 acre forested New Jersey estate

Primitive outdoor living, exciting camper-driven programming, and challenging trail expeditions called Vagabonds make up this unforgettable summer camp experience.

Our six core values guide all aspects of our program, ensuring that your child is growing and learning in the process of having an amazing time. Each day is filled with outdoor adventures with a schedule determined by the interests of the group – as such, no two sessions are ever the same. Campers plan their days and end each night gathered around a pow wow campfire to sing songs, reflect on accomplishments and look forward to the next day’s adventures. Vagabond, a highlight of the Trail Blazers experience, is a 1 to 4 night trip in nearby Stokes State Park, down the Delaware River or along the Appalachian Trail.

Staff

Trail Blazers hires staff from all over the country and the world who have a passion for working with youth in the outdoors. Each staff member must undergo a face to face interview in person or via Skype, have exceptional personal and professional references, and pass a thorough background check before arriving at camp.

Once arriving at camp, staff undergo 2 to 3 weeks of pre-camp training covering all aspects of the Trail Blazers program, to prepare for the important job of looking after your child’s physical and emotional safety.

We certify American Red Cross Life Guards on site. All staff are trained in basic first aid, and every group has staff members who are CPR and First Aid certified.

Our camp nurse works under the guidance of a licensed physician, and is on site 24/7 to ensure the health and wellness of our camp community, and to respond to any medical issues that may arise.

You can meet the 2017 overnight team right here.
