TBC Leaders in Training

The Leader-in-Training program at Trail Blazers is designed for current high school students who wish to develop leadership skills through active participation in different aspects of the Trail Blazers Sleep Away program.

As an L.I.T., you’ll design a large portion of your daily schedule, giving you the opportunity to explore the areas of camp that you are most passionate about. Perhaps you’ll lead a lesson in leave-no-trace camping with a group before their Vagabond. Or maybe you’ll coach a group of first time campers on proper fire building techniques. Night time may find you gathered at a younger small camp’s pow wow, singing songs and listening as campers share their proudest moments of the day.

L.I.T.s will come together at different times during the day, allowing ample opportunities for leadership training activities, personal reflection, project planning, and learning from one another’s experiences.

Participation in the L.I.T. program requires an application and a pre-camp interview. You can access your dashboard and forms or start a new registration below -- that's the first step. If you have any questions, feel free to call Molly at 212-929-7105, or email mmccue@trailblazers.org.
