Trail Blazers offers a variety of exciting summer and year round outdoor adventure and environmental education programs for youth. Our unique hands-on programs and activities emphasize a respect for nature and offer opportunities to unplug and connect with our stunning natural environment.

Futures in Food

Trail Blazers is proud to present our new year-round program, Futures in Food, made possible through a competitive grant from the Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies (FPWA), designed to further help teens connect with the land, learn where food comes from, develop healthy habits, and transform the skills gained into a career. Sleep Away Camp

Each summer, children from the tri-state area come to Trail Blazers for two or more weeks to experience a unique life experience in which they engage in a variety of adventure-based activities using our 1000 acre property that promote respect and curiosity for the environment, self-confidence, empathy, peaceful conflict resolution, team building, communication, and a love of learning. Under One Sky

Under One Sky (UOS) works to build an understanding of the “environment” to include everywhere we live, work, and play. This program helps campers take their personal connection to the outdoors and translate it into practical meaning for their urban lives. UOS participants engage through a leadership program element at camp during the summer as well as year round- through a series of monthly workshops, after school sessions and school curriculum. Leaders-in-Training

We welcome current high school students to apply to be part of our Leaders in Training program at Trail Blazers, where you will work with your small group and independently to cultivate leaderships skills to use at camp and beyond! View details.

Montague Day Camp

Trail Blazers offers a day program for families in the Sussex County area. Our exciting hand on program helps kids develop a sense of wonder towards the natural world while making friends and getting a chance to play in a constructive and nurturing environment. With unique programs focusing on different environmental and developmental themes, children participate in a variety for activities such as swimming, nature crafts, games, hikes, and environmental education. Winter and Spring Camp

During the winter and spring, over the school holiday breaks, overnight and day programs will be offered for campers to reconnect with friends from the summer, get a taste of what Trail Blazers is about and experience the outdoors in a different season. Some activities might include snow hikes, team building games, nature scavenger hunts, and more. Of course, there will be s’mores roasted over a campfire! (All activities are weather permitting.) Campers sleep in the heated Great Hall during these two day, one night adventures. View Details.

BKB Climbing Camp

Brooklyn Boulders Indoor Climbing Gym and Trail Blazers bring the best of Brooklyn climbing together with the best of outdoor adventure. A week-long climbing adventure begins with a day of fundamentals climbing skills taught at Brooklyn Boulders, followed by a trip to Trail Blazers to prepare for a hiking and climbing adventure in Allamuchy State Park. Participants will camp out and put their newly acquired climbing skills to the test on various natural rock. On the way, they will play endless games, cook meals over a camp fire, sing songs, and make friends that last a lifetime...and did we mention S’mores? View Details.

This summer, we're bringing the Trail Blazer experience to Prospect Lefferts Gardens in Brooklyn, NY! Participants in PLG Trail Blazers will unplug and explore their urban surroundings, finding quiet moments in our busy city and tuning in to the environmental settings. This adventure will culminate in an overnight at our 1100 acre camp in Montageue, NJ! View details.

Conferences, Rentals, and Weddings

With 1,100 acres of pristine land, Trail Blazers welcomes groups and individuals, seeking a unique event center, to take advantage of our site.
