After running camp for more than 133 years, we’ve become quite skilled at finding caring and professional counselors. Leaders who encourage exploration and have a passion for play! Now, our team of group leaders is available for families to bring into their own homes.
A group leader can supervise up to 6 kids—grades Pre-K through 5—from any number of families. They can support remote learning during the school day, provide an adventure-filled afternoon of camp, or provide some much-needed downtime for parents on nights or weekends. One constant is that staff will always bring along supplies to lead play-based activities for hands-on learning.
Want the pod to be able to explore the neighborhood or head to your local park? No problem! At Trail Blazers we believe whole-heartedly in the importance of spending time outdoors. The benefits of outdoor play are tremendous and our staff are trained extensively on how to facilitate and lead outdoors keeping safety the priority.
Just like all Trail Blazers programs, each remote camp day will include our five building blocks – research-based strategies, seamlessly woven into each day’s plan: Goal Setting, Team Building and Challenge, Free Play and Exploration, Science and Skill Building, and Reflection. Our counselors come equipped with supplies and are ready to facilitate a uniquely powerful youth development experience.
All counselors are background checked and more importantly, they are each hand-selected by our experienced camp directors. They are thoroughly trained and receive ongoing training and support from these same directors. Check out our staff bios (in the Available Counselors tab above) to see which counselor is the best fit!

After successfully running in-person programs throughout this pandemic, we learned a thing or two about keeping families safe. All our counselors have been trained on COVID best practices, and strictly adhere to our Safety Plan and guidelines to ensure the safety of our campers, families, and staff.
All counselors will wear masks at all times and will complete a health screening questionnaire and temperature check prior to each booking. Families will undergo the same health screening process upon staff arrival. The temperatures of all campers will be taken.
If making multiple reservations please book the same counselor, to provide consistent care and limit exposure. For more details, check out our full Safety Plan. Here.

“Just want to send you a note to let you know how amazing I think Miss Monet is. She is so, so good with the kids and creates such a positive, fun environment for them in this crazy time.
I am so grateful Otto has her, along with all the other Trailblazer leaders, to look up to.”
